Miss Priss Tutus

I have met some amazing and talented women since I have entered the business world! I recently met Dallas, owner of Miss Priss Tutus. Dallas and I are both Work At Home Mothers and former teachers! One difference between us is our children. I have one little boy and she is the mother of two little girls. Yes, little boys are a lot of fun, but, let's face it . . .for girl-ie mothers like me (you know who you are!) . . . sometimes playing dress-up and having tea parties sounds like so much fun!! Catnip Studio

Lollishops, a new venue for buying and selling hand-made items will be opening their doors by December. I have been accepted as a vendor there and have met many amazing and talented artists!

Catnip Studio creates most romantic, sometimes vintage inspired, jewelry and home decor!

She uses beautiful filagrees in many of her jewelry pieces. They are stunning!

My friend from Blue Gecko Candle Company, Deirdre Motley, told me about this Christian music singer, JJ Heller! After listening to a her music on her website, i had to order a cd!!! What a beautiful voice and moving music!

My Country

I will never forget when I first heard the news that someone had flown airplanes into the Twin Towers and the Pentagon. I couldn't believe it at first! I was student teaching in kindergarten that day during my last semester of college. My supervising teacher and I turned on the TV while the students were at enrichment. I will never forget watching the horrific scenes on TV that day! The suffering, the loss, the tragedy of it all . . . but, also the bravery and honor that these American Heroes showed! My mom was supposed to fly to Buffalo, NY that day, but thankfully, never boarded the airplane!

I grew up a lot that day!

I am, and have always been, proud of my country. I am proud and thankful for the soldiers that put their own lives at risk, leave their families and fight for my freedom! The freedom that I enjoy and often times take forgranted. I cannot begin to imagine the horrendous situations that these soldiers go through!

I watch the news and think of my own son. What will the world be like in 15 or 20 more years when he is of age to join the military? If he does decide to join the military, I know my heart will ache, but at the same time I will be very proud!

I am forever thankful that our brave soldiers are fighting to ensure the safety of my son, my loved ones and my country!

The Blue Gecko Candle Company

I'm in the process of adding my fav blogs to my blog roll and thought I'd introduce some amazing business owners and artists at the same time!

Deirdre Motley, owner and brains behind The Blue Gecko Candle Company, is a customer-turned-friend! She is a wife and mommy to three who runs a successful candle/tart business . . . and she does it so gracefully!

My favorite product she creates is her delicious, mouth-watering tarts! I absolutely LOVE her Downy April Fresh scent tart! I love to pop one in my tart burner and clean house! Honeysuckle, Jelly Berry Butter Coookies, Pommegranite Passion and Spiced Pumpkin Brulee are also among my top favs!

What? No tart burner? She's got those, too! These tart burners have removable trays that you can pop in the fridge for 30 min or so and then easily remove the old tarts! It makes changing scents a breeze!

She recently introduced a new product that I can't live without . . . Silky Milky Bubble Bath! This stuff works wonders for tired brains like mine that just can't seem to shut off at night! One soak in the tub with this bubble bath and you'll be hooked!
