My Country Tis of Thee, Sweet Land of Liberty

What has happened to my country?

"One nation, under God" . . . .

Lawsuits are all over the news lately. The ACLU has made it their personal mission to take God, even the very mention of His name, out of any public setting. School teachers and administrators are being sued for mentioning his name . . . for praying. Even students are not allowed to mention God in speeches given to fellow students. Court houses are removing the Ten Commandments out and are being replaced with . . . what, exactly? Anything goes? Do whatever makes you happy? As our country is removing God out, His almighty hand of protection is going with Him.

"Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness" . . .

Life . . . where does it begin? . . . that's the debate anyway. For most bible-believing folks, the miracle of life begins at conception. For others, life doesn't begin until the babies are born. They are just 'its' that get in the mother's (and I use that the term 'mother' here very lightly) way of her selfish lifestyle. It's a "woman's choice," they say. What about the babies choice? Didn't the woman have a choice not to do the deed that created this baby in the first place? I don't know what the figure is . . . how many babies have been aborted, but I'm sure it's a very high number . . . even 1 is too many! Have we possibly aborted a baby that would have grown up to find a cure for a disease? Or perhaps create a clever invention? Or be the next Billy Graham?

Now, congress is debating Cap and Trade. This is said to be a program to lower carbon emissions so we can live in on a cleaner planet, but those with eyes can see it's all about power and making more money for those heavily invested in this bill (some investors are even members of congress! How's that for a conflict of interest!) The new Internet Czar, Cass Sustein, believes that animals should have the right to sue people! He obviously doesn't believe that God gave us dominion over all things on the earth! And this guy was just confirmed by Congress! Geez, Congress - what are you thinking? And Van Jones, although he just resigned, is just the tip of the iceburg!

"Liberty" . . . oh, there's so many freedoms we have in the United States of America.

  1. Free speech . . . that's been trampled on with the politically correct police. Freedom of the press . . . that's been corrupted. . . MSNBC and other news outlets don't even report the news anymore.

  2. Right to bare arms . . . that's being debated right now. Gun sales have risen dramatically since Obama took office.

  3. Congress can't make any law that prohibits the free exercise of religion . . . hmmm . . . refer to the first paragraph.

"Pursuit of happiness" . . . Glenn Beck has recently said, "Our constitution promised 'life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, but it doesn't guarantee equal results." What happened to the notion of 'work hard, pursue your dreams and you can be anything you want to be when you grow up?' Can we not fail anymore in this country? Failure is how we learn! "If at first you don't succeed, try, try, try again." What happened to our drive? Our determination? Our government started giving out stimulus checks under George Bush and Henry Paulson starting bailing out banks in 2008! The current administration has followed in Paulson's footsteps by bailing out more and more banks. Did I make use of my goverment check? Yes! But, I would have rather not have received it since it was borrowed money from China! This is supposed to be the land of opportunity . . . not the land of free bailouts for large corporations and banks! Let those that fail, FAIL! If they need to file bankruptcy, do it! That's why we have bankruptcy laws. Now, I'm going to have to work twice as hard (or three times as hard, if we keep spending) to make the same amount of money because the American people are "in debt up to their eyeballs" as that commercial says! But, VP Joe Bidden says paying taxes is "patriotic!" HA! Is being in debt to China so much that they want to replace our dollar being "patriotic", Joe Bidden?

We have become a country of spoiled brats! . . .

It starts at home and in the schools with our children. We no longer instill the value of hard work. We no longer have winners and loosers at Field Day . . . because we are all winners? Teachers are not supposed to use red ink to grade papers . . . because that might make the child feel bad. Well, when that child grows up and goes into the workplace, perhaps he will be handed a 'purple' slip instead of a 'pink slip' so that he doesn't get low self-esteem!

Those who don't work hard and make sacrifices to get where they want to be in life, but want things handed to them. And the "hand" in this case is the goverment. We are handing food stamps, subsidized housing, and checks out to the deadbeats of society. They are lounging around and taking government 'crack', while we work for a living . . . to put food on our table, pay our bills. There are people that have true disabilities and we have a right to take care of those in our society that cannot take care of themselves. There are people who have lost their job or lost their spouse and need food stamps until they get back on their feet. But, the system is being used and abused . . . it's corrupt. Now, the president, his administration and most of congress want to add to the list of freebies with healthcare! Wow, the President was not joking when he said to Joe the Plumber, "We need to spread the wealth."

We have become a country of corruption! . . .

Isn't it ironic that the Treasury Secretary, Timothy Geithner, didn't pay his own taxes, but he was still confirmed as Treasury Secretary! He didn't even face charges, let alone jail time! We have recently learned that Red. Charlie Rangel failed to report $1 million in assets and income and he sits on the House Ways and Means Committee . . . they write the federal tax codes!! The infamous ACORN group (as well as SEIU) has been discussed on Glenn Beck more times than one can count for voter froud, embezillement and most recently for aiding a 20 year old girl to commit fellonies while receiving subsidized housing from our goverment! The omnibus/stimulus bill is full of pork and pet-projects that elected officials have brought to their home-states to 'pay back' campaign contributions and fullfill campaign promises!

WAKE UP, AMERICA!

What happened to our republic? It's being stolen from us piece by piece! If We the People don't stand up, speak up and vote down these loonies and progressives that want to turn our republic into a communist, facist or socialist state where they have the power and we the people have none, the United States of America will look vastly different very, very soon.
